Marselan is a black wine grape variety, native to France, resulting from the crossing of Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache Noir grapes. It was created in 1961 near Marseillan by researchers from INRA and ENSAM. It has been introduced mainly in the vineyards of Languedoc, the Rhône Valley, Spain, as well as on the north coast of California, Switzerland, Israel, and Montenegro.

Located in Puissalicon, a small medieval village in Languedoc, equidistant from Béziers, Pézenas and Bédarieux, Domaine BASSAC has been cultivating the family property with the same passion for several generations.

The vineyards of Domaine Bassac, spread around the communes of Puissalicon and Thèzan les Béziers, cover approximately 80 hectares on very diverse soils.

The varied and original grape varieties of Domaine Bassac take into account the particularities, the terroir and the exposure of each plot.

With the aim of producing authentic wines that respect the terroir, nature and the subtle balance that allows the expression of the secret harmony of the soil and the vine, we have chosen to cultivate our vines according to the rules of Organic Agriculture.

The winery, located in the village of Puissalicon itself, is an old building which has been refurbished and extended over the generations.
